So.. I dusted off my sin and..
Well I'm really not sure what's "good". I just H/H anymore anyhow, but I felt like playing a dungeon with some real people the other day, and they told me to leave because my build "looked" stupid. They said they DIDN'T want a perma or whatever (I surely don't waste my time with all of that), and they just needed some big damage. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or something, but this build is what I used when GWEN came out (my sin was the first of my chars to go through it) and it melts face normally.. Should I at least be trying something else? Something new that I don't know about?
Dagger 12+1+2
Critical 8+1
Deadly 10+1
Assassins Promise
Black Lotus Strike
Golden Fang Strike
Death Blossom
Golden Phoenix Strike
"By Ural's Hammer!"
"I am the strongest!"/Asuran Scan
Critical Agility
And while my chain can seem a little clumsy, I can kill bosses with just my buffs and the first 3 skills in NM with ease alone. Even in HM, most things die before I can even fully click Death Blossom..
I play this and basic Moebius most of the time, and I'm just not sure what people do with sins anymore if that's not "good" anymore. Any tips guys?

The build to me also looks fine, playing a sin myself, when doing PvE that doesn't require Shadowform, I tend to use the Moebious chain. Remember with PUGs, majority of the time, they only want to see Wiki bars or they believe you are incompetent and not worth their time.
What dungeon was it, perhaps the foes you encountered rendered your bar useless which provoked them to say what they did, however, even then, they should have had the decency to tell you what to change to before kicking you.

Problem isn't your build. The problem is people are close minded.
Best bet is to find a guild that will accept you no matter the build (hard to find but I got one)
sorry bud

Either abuse [[Assassin's Promise] with a spike chain or use [[Death Blossom] with [[Moebius Strike] to loop, not both.
For Assassin's Promise:
[build prof=assas/any dagger=11+2 critic=8+1 deadly=11+1+1][Assassin's Promise][Shadow Fang]["You move like a dwarf!"][Falling Lotus Strike][Trampling Ox][Falling Spider][Blades of Steel][Impale][/build]
If you want to use Death Blossom, do so with Moebius Strike because they both recharge fast enough to be looped and would not need Assassin's Promise:
[build prof=A/any name="Death Blossom" dag=12+1+1 cri=12+1][Optional][golden fang][Death Blossom][Moebius Strike][Asuran Scan][Critical Agility][Critical Eye][Optional][/build]
Optional #1
- [[Golden Fox Strike]
- [[Sneak Attack]
- [[Unsuspecting Strike]
Optional #2
- [[Ebon Battle Standard of Honor]
- [[Club of a Thousand Bears]
- [[Brawling Headbutt]
- [[Critical Defenses]
- [[Assassin's Remedy (PvE)]
- [["Save Yourselves!"]
- [[Sunspear Rebirth Signet]

If you want to pug you have to run mainstream builds...whether that is good or bad, is up to you. I am a proponent of mainstream builds as PvE is not the mAT ... content is static, builds may be static. If the agreed upon builds are conventional but get the job done optimally, who cares?
As for the build pugs were looking for, it was probably deathblossom/moebius strike sin with scan & some form of block/stance removal.

Build looks okay. No big fan of majors, but whatever.
It could be argued that your build lacks focus. People expect Promise chars to go all-caster and pwn from the midline (with midline-PvE skills). You go up close like a Blossom spammer would, and while you've done a decent job of fixing spammability you've already admitted yourself it looked a bit 'clumsy'.
ac1 posted some smooth wiki builds (though to me, Wild Strike will usually be a better pick than Golden Fang) but sadly there's not a Promise Dagger sin among them. My suggestion (keeping your stats):
A/W
Black Mantis Thrust
Golden Fang Strike
Wild Blow
Blades of Steel
Promise
Crit Agility
Scan
I Am The Strongest!
Blossom instead of BoS yields strictly better results in most situations. But it's not nearly as much fun.
In closing: MS/DB FTMFW! MS/DB > all.

It's not too bad. If you like it, go for it!
I perfer the NFT Assault enchantments build with "dodge this!" in there instead of YMLaD

Moebius/Blossom is far too overused.
I don't care how powerful it is. :]
I prefer using Beguilling Haze or Ebon Dust Aura. :]
Makes the game more fun. :]

Beguiling Haze + Blinding Powder is a pretty fun build. Might not roll over everything in the game like MS/DB...but it can pretty much shutdown a caster and/or a group of physicals while still doing decent damage.

I think so.
Locust's Fury is good...but it is counterproductive to the use of skills because double strike is not a factor there.

Aye, but off course you're not gonna run a bar filled with attack skills, that would be kinda silly. The combination Locust Fury + SoH + Great Dwarf Weapon (+ Asuran scan) tends to deal pretty insane damage and allows you to spam SY! pretty well. It does require a buffer but that is hardly a big problem.
Anyway, I felt that with MB/DB spam my target tended to die too quickly to really profit from the synergy between MB and DB. In Hard mode it's not that bad (although it still depends alot on the area) but in NM I really couldn't be bothered with MB/DB spam.

True, but when H/H'ing, you lose out on Great Dwarf Weapon, not to mention your DPS goes down significantly in areas with enchant removal such as Destroyer heavy areas with Hex Eater Vortex or those Skelk who spam Chilblains or even good old incubi. And that's just EoTN.

True...but Golden Fox Strike + Wild Strike is worth it for blockers..because DB is owned when there's that in the mix. Not to mention, heavy blockers like rangers or monks spamming aegis/guardian etc makes me very glad to have those skills along. Again, comes down to what one is used to I suppose.

Lead Attack - Exhausting Assault - MS - DB
I prefer Sneak Attack, btw

I rolled through the entirety of EotN with a smite monk, for SoH, and an Orders necro...
Build being Locust's Fury, Critical Agility, Save Yourselves, and other random non-chain skills.
60-70 damage per hit, hitting every .8 seconds was pretty nice for auto-attack damage, while being able to spam SY.
Again, not saying it was the greatest thing going, but it was definitely c-spacing to the max.
